How should I get a house ready to sell?

Answer: If you plan to retail your house, it should look good. Walk through the house and try to picture yourself seeing it for the first time. Ask yourself, what kind of things would I notice and what is going to stand out to prospective buyers. A house ready to sell should be pretty, clean and have some extras (plants, lights, mirrors, pictures, decorations). It should not look cluttered, dirty, ill cared for, feel or smell stuffy. Get some air fresheners, have it cooled, or heated to the right temperature. You should feel comfortable and relaxed when you walk in the front door.

Ask your Realtor and other professionals for any of their ideas and suggestions on what else the house needs.
